"Permanence" - Limited Print
This is my new piece titled “Permanence”. I’m Incredibly happy with it. This is my first proper landscape painting, one of many to come that will fit into the concept of my new project.
As I’ve become older, I’ve grown increasingly fond of nature, and equally conscious of its huge importance in our lives. But with that also comes the rational concern and frustration from the continuous loss of our natural world, for ideals and values of less importance. Naturally this subject eventually found its way into my art.
The idea of my project is to draw scenes of a dystopian-esque future, where man has almost all but perished, leaving animals free to encroach areas that were once off limits, and emphasising the damages and irreversible changes that have been left by humanity in the natural world. My hope is to create beautiful landscapes, but with the underlying intention to approach the issue of climate breakdown with my work and to attempt to visualise it to some capacity, subtly or otherwise.
